How Nava International looks after the information you share with us through our Android app and members' portal.

Last updated: 21 September 2026

About this policy

This policy covers the Nava app for Android, the members' portal (my.nava.international) and the contact and newsletter forms on this website. "Nava", "we" and "us" mean Nava International. It is written to be read: if anything is unclear, write to us at support@nava.international.

What we keep about you

Most of it comes from you.

  • Your details: name, email address, phone number, city and country, gender, date of birth, emergency contact, your familiarity with yoga, education, marital status, and your preferred language and way of being contacted.
  • Health details and medication, only if you choose to give them and agree to us storing them. The app keeps this part hidden until you open it.
  • Your classes: the classes and workshops you have joined or attended, the registrations you send, and the proof of payment you give us (a tracking code, the amount, the date, the last four digits of a card, and a photo or PDF of the bank slip).
  • Your profile photo, if you add one, and the choices you make (newsletter, consent).
  • Messages you send us and the announcements we send you.
  • In the app: a sign-in code we send you, then a private key kept in your phone's secure storage (we keep only a scrambled copy of it), the Android version of your phone and when it last connected, so that you stay signed in and we can sign out phones you no longer use. If you allow notifications, also your phone's notification address (a Firebase Cloud Messaging token).

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent your information. The app has no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools, and it does not use your location.

Why we use it

  • To register you for classes, confirm payments and run the classes you join.
  • To remind you about classes and to send announcements, which you can turn off.
  • To answer your questions and keep our community records.
  • To send you our newsletter and updates by email. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To keep the financial and administrative records that an organisation like ours has to keep.

Who can see it

Nava team members who need it to run classes, payments and support can see your record. They sign in with their own accounts. A few services also help us deliver the app, and see only what they need:

  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers notifications to your phone. The notification text and your phone's notification address pass through Google's servers.
  • Our email service sends sign-in codes and messages to your email address.
  • If we send you a sign-in code by text message, a text-message provider carries that message.
  • Our server is rented from a hosting company in Germany.

We may also share information where the law requires it.

How we protect it

Connections to the app and the portal are encrypted. Staff must sign in to see records, and the sign-in key on your phone stays in the phone's secure storage. No system is perfectly safe; if we learn that your information has been exposed in a way that could harm you, we will tell you.

How long we keep it

We keep your record while you are part of the Nava community and for as long as we need it for our records. Payment records may have to be kept for accounting. When we delete your profile (see below), copies in our backups and recycle bin are erased within 30 days.

Your choices

  • See and correct your details: in the app under My account → Edit my details, or on your profile page in the portal. Changes to your name, email or phone are checked by our team first.
  • Reminders and announcements: turn them off under My account → Settings, or in your phone's notification settings.
  • Newsletter and consent: change these at any time in your profile. You can withdraw your consent to us storing your health details whenever you like.
  • Get a copy of your information: write to us and we will send it.
  • Delete your information: in the app, open My account → Privacy & my data → Delete my account and data; in the portal, use the same option on your profile page; or write to support@nava.international. A member of our team reviews the request and we aim to answer within 30 days. We may need to keep some payment records, and you can withdraw the request before we decide.
  • Ask a question or make a complaint: support@nava.international. If you live in the European Union you may also contact your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is important we will also tell you in the app.
